Québec Autoroutes

Autoroute 70 (A-70)

This freeway bypasses the twin cities of Chicoutimi and Jonquière (now merged into one city : Ville-Saguenay). The section between Downtown Jonquière and West of Jonquière opened in 2004. A Western segment has been proposed. MTQ will build a trumpet interchange at 8th Line and a 4-lane freeway will be built around St-Bruno and the A-70 will end in a trumpet interchange at the southern end of Alma. It will be easy to connect these two autoroutes as the gap between them is 4 lanes divided.

See http://www.mtq.gouv.qc.ca/fr/regions/saguenay/lien_Alma.asp for more info on A-70 westward extension.
